The Veil War is entry #3 in the The Veil chapter of the Grindveil Codex.

The Wardens hold that the Veil is a wall, and that walls get built for reasons nobody bothers to write down until the wall is gone. They do not ask what is behind it. Asking, in their experience, is precisely how it thins.

The Seekers hold that the Veil is a door, and that a door left shut long enough stops being a door and starts being a lie. They have opened it four times. They will happily tell you about three.

A veilstone is a piece of the membrane that cooled. It remembers the shape of whatever passed through it, which is why a Pass measures a season and not a sum.

Not a place you travel to. It is the distance between two places, made briefly walkable, and it charges rent by the minute.
