Mage Strengths

Highest ATK scaling

Mages roll the biggest damage numbers in the game when their gear lines up.

Armor Penetration

Magic damage partially bypasses DEF — great against tanky Warriors.

Mage Resistance

Native mage-res scaling helps in mage-vs-mage matchups.

Fastest boss clears

When the fight is short, the Mage wins. Front-load damage, end it early.

Combat System

Grindveil's combat is auto-resolving, round-based. Your Mage and the opponent trade blows automatically — each round the attacker rolls dodge, crit, block, and applies DEF reduction. You influence the outcome before the fight through: Equipment (8 slots, 6 rarities, up to 6 gem sockets), Skill Tree (6 branches, ~196 nodes), Gems, and Pets (unlock at Level 15). See the full combat guide.

Core Stats Mages Care About

Grindveil uses flat combat stats. Mage builds prioritize:

Attack

Your primary kill stat — stack it through weapon, rings, and gems.

Crit Chance

Doubles or triples your damage in a single turn.

Crit Damage %

Multiplies your crits. Pair with high Crit Chance so scaling stacks across rounds.

Armor Pen

Punches through Warrior DEF for clean damage.

Max HP

Don't ignore — a dead Mage deals zero damage.

Speed

Acting first as a Mage often wins the fight outright.

FAQ

Is this class good for beginners?

Not for first-timers. Mages are powerful but fragile — one bad matchup can cost the fight. Pick Warrior first to learn the ropes, then try Mage.

Can I change class later?

Class choice is permanent per character. You can create additional characters to try other classes without losing your main.
