Expeditions run in the background while you play — or while you're offline. Send a scout on a mission from 30 minutes up to 24 hours. Up to 3 expeditions run simultaneously, raised to 4 with Premium.
Mission durations
Short missions (30 min, 1 h) give small but frequent rewards. Longer missions (6 h, 12 h, 24 h) give bigger payouts — gold, materials, blueprints, rare gear, and occasional pet drops.
Unlocks
New expedition types unlock as you level and clear dungeon bosses. Mythic-tier expeditions are endgame content with the highest payouts.
Why it matters
Expeditions are the answer to 'what do I do while idle zone is filling up'. They stack with everything else — idle farming + expeditions + fishing triples your throughput.

Forest
epicHalf an hour of walking and a sack of whatever fell off something. Every hero in every story starts by picking scrap out of a hedge; the stories just skip that part.
Caravan
epicTwo hours guarding somebody else's goods. Nineteen times in twenty this is very boring. The twentieth is the reason the pay is what it is.
Ruins
epicEight hours in a place that used to be a city. The stonework remembers being load-bearing and has not adjusted well to retirement.
Veil
epicA day and a night on the far side of the seam. Whatever comes back is worth the trip. Whatever does not come back also was, in its way.
Royal
epicThe crown pays well, on time, and in writing. Nobody has yet explained why a crown with an army needs you specifically, and the contract discourages asking.
